The successful candidate will provide development and support for maintenance and migration of Access applications to a web front-end, and a SQL back-end. The successful candidate will have opportunity to architect, design, and write necessary code for these applications. These applications will be web-based. The ideal candidate must be able to work in various environments and have the flexibility to multi-task on numerous projects. CONSULTANT ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. The consultant(s) shall provide architectural design and programming support. 2. The consultant(s) shall provide testing and debugging services for supported applications. 3. The consultant(s) shall provide group and individual training. 4. The consultant(s) shall provide comprehensive user support for existing and newly developed software applications. 5. The consultant(s) shall provide software development services for the Web using Microsoft ASP.NET <http://asp.net/> 2.0/3.5 technologies under Visual Studio 2005/2008, AJAX, C#, Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008, Microsoft Reporting Services, and Microsoft IIS 6.0. 6. The consultant(s) shall migrate existing MS Access applications over to an ASP.Net <http://asp.net/> Web/IIS front end and a Microsoft SQL server backend. 7. The consultant(s) shall be responsible for completing deliverables in the agreed upon timeframe. 8. The consultant(s) must actively participate in coordination meetings, meeting with Subject Matter Experts (SME), fact-finding meetings, working sessions, status reporting (both verbal and written), presentations, and general communication on an ongoing 9. The consultant(s) will work with the Chief Information Officer and the Deputy Chief Information Officer to ensure any issues concerning the work are reported. Mandatory Qualifications 1. Must have at least 5 years of web software development experience using Microsoft ASP.NET <http://asp.net/> 2.0/3.5 and Visual Studio 2005/2008. 2. Must have at least 5 years experience using C#, HTML,/DHTML, JavaScript, XML/XSLT, HTTP, CSS, AJAX and Ajax Controls for ASP.NET <http://asp.net/>. 3. Must have experience with T-SQL and writing stored procedures. 4. Must have strong understanding of relational database concepts. 5. Must have experience with SQL Server 2005 (2008 a plus). 6. Must have experience with SQL Server Reporting Services. 7. Must have experience with Microsoft Access 97 and above. 8. Must possess excellent verbal communication as well as organizational skills. 9. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable Qualifications Should have experience in class libraries design and general application architecture. Experience dealing with State processes and control agencies. Experience working with law enforcement and/or health care services agencies. Previous experience working for the offering Firm. The candidate should have knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies. 6.
