*System Administrator (Linux/Solaris) Atlanta, GA 6+ Months Contract * Will support Verizon (VZ) primarily but will also support other clients as well. This is a development position, so we will be porting turnkey applications and O/S’ to new hardware platforms. This includes writing new scripts, modifying and troubleshooting existing scripts that automate the installation of software onto the new hardware platforms. As part of this activity, the resource would need to use a source code configuration management tool to check in code changes, bug tracking tool to open, fix and test defects that come from these activities and at times travel to sites where these new hardware and software deployments would occur in customer labs and productions systems. Essentially this is a Unix System Engineer type role with heavy development activity. The environment includes networking, database and snmp use, so familiarity with these technologies is helpful.
