Responsible for administration, configuration, troubleshooting and support
of server environments running under various Operating Systems including
Windows, Novell.
Responsible for installing, configuring and troubleshooting various
infrastructure tools including middleware, Java, .net, Database.


Possesses strong network knowledge and skilled in network protocols such as
tcp/ip and DNS, DHCP.  Has hands on with Server installs, rack/stack,
storage configuration (NAS,SAN).  Employ extensive professional expertise as
a generalist or specialist.  Develop resolutions to complex problems that
require the frequent use of ingenuity and creativity. Work is accomplished
without appreciable direction. Able to work on task in a team oriented
environment and pass documented information onto other teammates.

*Statement:*

Provide Windows System Administration functions for Windows infrastructure,
which includes:

Incident Management
Restore normal service for OS infrastructure issues as quickly as possible
and minimize the adverse impact on testing schedules.
Problem Management
Diagnoses the underlying cause of the  OS infrastructure incidents,
correcting errors in the IT infrastructure and performing proactive problem
prevention.
Change Management
Ensures that standardized methods and procedures are used for efficient and
prompt handling of all changes to minimize the impact of change related
incidents on service quality.
Configuration Management ldentifying, controlling, maintaining and verifying
the OS baseline configurations
Capacity Management
Manage server resources and predict the need for additional capacity in
advance.
Service Level Management
Meet or exceed SLAs.

*Skills:*

Responsible for administration, configuration, troubleshooting and support
of server environments running under various Operating Systems including
Windows, NetWare, and ESX Server.  Exert considerable latitude in
determining technical objectives of assignment.

This position requires in-depth and real world design and operational
knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory in an enterprise server environment
and must be an expert with the Windows Operating System.  Current Microsoft
Certified Professional (MCP) certification is preferred. The ideal candidate
will have in-depth knowledge of Citrix and VMware platforms as well.
Provide design consultation and recommendations, systems administration,
operational support and problem resolution for Microsoft Windows,
ESX/vSphere, and Citrix systems.

Coordinate the installation and maintenance of third party vendor software
and hardware, maintenance and support, disk space management, backups and
file restoration. Maintain availability of assigned services.  Analyze level
3 system problems and recommend solutions.

Ensure system accessibility, functionality and stability through best
practices administration. Install new software releases, perform system
upgrades, evaluate and install software and security patches, and resolve
software-related issues.  Support installing, loading, and configuring
servers, server connectivity issues, perform server upgrades and migration
to new system-level software.  Perform Windows 2003 and 2008 Server
administration across the enterprise (multiple sites) utilizing Microsoft
Best Practices.  Provide security measures and maintain patch management
with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).  Resolve interoperability
problems to obtain optimal operations across all platforms including
Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Microsoft Windows, Citrix, hardware and
software. Research and evaluate products/vendors and project work.  Plan,
estimate, and implement projects of moderate to large size and complexity.
 Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on operating systems and hardware.


Ensure compliance with baseline configurations, security controls, and
change management processes and procedures.
Expert level knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (2003 and 2008),
Active Directory, and software packages including IIS. VMWARE/ESX knowledge
a plus.  Required hardware knowledge of HP servers, Blades and Dell Servers.
 Current Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification is preferred.

Minimum Requirements:
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or the
foreign equivalent and (7) years of experience in Microsoft Windows server
platforms, and installing/maintaining HW/SW in a large server environment.
 Ability to read, comprehend, and modify scripts written in different code
versions.
