*Job Description:*



Mobile Development Engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional team,
applying your skill, experience and creativity towards building complex and
scalable Mobile Application solutions. You will work in a highly
collaborative environment, solving exciting problems while both forging and
leveraging best engineering practices. We work full-stack and the team owns
features end-to-end. On our team, we’re working daily to build the next
generation of products that will help make Kroger customers’ and partners’
lives easier. We happily pull in a peer when we need a pair to get through
a tough problem or just for a second pair of eyes. We are passionate about
building innovative products and solutions that will provide future revenue
streams for the business.



*You should have:*



   - A passion for building innovative, high-performance, reliable,
   ingenious, and robust applications
   - Extensive iOS Development with XCode/Swift experience
   - Extensive AndroidOS Development experience
   - Xamarin Cross-platform Development Experience
   - Ability to learn new programming languages and technologies VERY
   rapidly
   - OAuth 2.0+
   - SQL Experience with Open-Source database solutions (i.e. PostgreSQL)
   - Experience with sustainable engineering practices such as automated
   testing (TDD), continuous integration, continuous deployment, and
   monitoring / alerting.
   - Strong fundamentals, with overlap across our tech stack (Python,
   RESTful APIs, Postman, Docker, Nginx, Web-sockets)
   - Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, microservices, and
   relational databases
   - A passion for learning from and collaborating with a diverse, talented
   team and mentoring junior team members



*Requirements:*



   - Strong computer science foundational skills
   - Minimum 4+ years working in modern mobile application development
   - Experience building and shipping multiple large software products
   using agile methodologies
   - Excellent communication skills - you can effectively work with
   engineers but at the same time collaborate with product owners, data
   analysts and stakeholders



*Major Bonus Points for:*



   - Experience working on distributed or remote-first teams
   - Experience with distributed system performance analysis and
   optimization
   - Experience in event-driven architectures
   - Experience with DevOps best practices and tools
   - Experience with Kubernetes
   - Experience in Snowflake, Spark (Databricks), Hadoop, Azure, Google
   Cloud



*Key Responsibilities*



   - Lead and participate in the design and implementation of large and/or
   architecturally significant applications.
   - Champion company standards and best practices.  Work to continuously
   improve software delivery processes and practices.
   - Develop programming specifications.  Design, code and unit test
   application code using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best
   practices.
   - Work with Product team to plan new features, gather requirements and
   propose solutions.
   - Acquire and interpret business requirements, creates a functional
   specification, and determines the most efficient/appropriate technologies.
   - Research and implement new interface development techniques.
   - Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test,
   release and support)
   - Ability to work with new technologies while showing drive,
   adaptability, and creative thinking.
   - Establish development best practices and growth of mobile applications
   standards.
   - Help foster a culture of innovation and out-of-the box thinking.
   - Support and maintain applications utilizing required tools and
   technologies
   - Assist other folks on assignments including mentoring or providing
   on-the-job training to more junior associates
