Role: GIS Consultant Location: Township, NJ 08691 Duration: 12 Months The Product Specialist will have professional Geographic Information Systems (GIS) experience relating to geographic analysis of agency defined parameters and/or other factors, image processing, interpretation, and application of geographic data digitizing, editing, integration and presentation; Data cartographic layout and design for static and interactive media; Research on modeling, computer graphic, and mathematical mapping techniques made possible by the GIS, and relates these directly to information needs; Maintains base map collection and library, and conducts file management for digitized data; Prepares technical reports and correspondence; will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information system used by the agency, office, or related units; Operates all computer hardware/software associated with the GIS; Demonstrates proficiency with ESRI software, including current versions of ArcGIS for Desktop and ArcGIS Online; Performs other related duties. PS3 Years of Relevant Experience: 5 plus years Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Geography, or related field including or supplemented by twelve (12) semester hour credits in computer mapping/GIS which shall have included spatial programming and digital image processing. Required / Desired Skills Experience with ESRI software, including current versions of ArcGIS for Desktop and ArcGIS Online Experience with digital cartography, image processing, computer technology, GIS software, geospatial production techniques, remote sensing. A background in geospatial analysis. Demonstrate expertise with information management services and geodatabase management systems. Understanding of issues and business problems and use geographic information systems (GIS) to develop geospatial intelligence reports and products. Demonstrate expertise with information management services and geodatabase management systems.
