Job Title: Linux Systems Administrator
Location: Bohemia NY
Duration: 12 Months

Integrate software & related technology for client ’s airport based IT
systems. The position requires the integration of various technologies
including: RHEL, CentOS, Satellite, Spacewalk, Backup/Restore, Nagios, PHP,
Perl, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
• Standardize System Level Architecture
• Automate System Implementation
• Standardize/Define security architecture regarding patch
management, anti-virus, server hardening, user management, etc...
• Extend functionality of Nagios and system administration via
scripting (PHP, Perl, shell scripting, etc.) and database programming
• Engineer Disaster Recovery, Back/Restore and other fault
tolerance related product elements
• Provide 3rd level support
• Evaluate 3rd Party Software and Integrating as needed
• Provide feedback to management regarding the requirements for
the software (and related technology) being considered for integration
• Evaluate and recommend add-on utilities for system
administration and troubleshooting.
• Write documentation for each integration. (Documentation
includes details such as: Installation, customization, backup, and
troubleshooting information)
• Ability to travel worldwide as needed.
Education and training:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information
Systems, Engineering or equivalent technical discipline related to job
description.
Minimum of two years in Linux administration and heavy scripting.
Working knowledge of Nagios
