*Job Title: Oracle DBA* *Location: Owings Mills, MD* *Duration: 9+ Months* *Rate: $45/hr on C2C* *Responsibilities: * Implements, and maintains, ORACLE databases in support of the development and installation of new systems for data warehouse, E-commerce and corporate systems. Uses available tools and utilities to provide for necessary DBMS maintenance activities: data base reorganizations, backup and recovery, space management, performance and tuning, and change management. Performs system administration and system management functions for ORACLE data base systems. Assists application developers and other clients with data base usage and software development activities. Maintains and installs ORACLE data base software, ORACLE Enterprise Planning (ERP) software, DBA ORACLE tools and the corporate repository software. Represents DBA on departmental level technology projects and assumes project management responsibilities for enterprise projects. Trains and counsels less experienced DBA staff members. Enforces and maintains corporate data and data base administration policies, guidelines, and standards. Updates and maintains corporate data dictionary and uses in support of applications development, data warehouse, and end user support Assists application development and operations personnel in the identification and resolution of problems related to supported DBMS platforms. Participates in 24x7 on call schedule to provide out of hours operational assistance. Exercises independence in identifying DBMS problems and determining the necessary resources and activities for resolution.
