In collaboration with the Software Development team, this position will play a key role in the semi-automation testing of our web-based product and our hand held (palm) technology software and internal support applications. We are seeking a high potential QA engineer who has experience working with cutting edge web application technologies and has worked in start-up/ramp-updynamic environments. Responsibilities: - Excellant knowledge in Quick Test Pro, SQL, and mercury tools. - Some experience in the health care arena or working with large data sets on the Palm is required. - Work with Customer Support, and Software Development to resolve product related anomalies. - Experience in testing wireless products and with software configuration management systems. - Capable of quickly understanding detailed business logic of customer and internal web applications. - Work with current staff to support software and dataload releases for the iScribe product. - Investigate issues identified by users and work to make incremental improvements to the product. - Experience with all phases of product development lifecycle, including requirements definition, specifications, development, test, product release, and sustaining engineering. - Analyze project requirements. - Execute and analyze test results for manual and automated tests (some scripting may be required). - Proactively solve problems and suggest process improvements. - Coaches and Mentors Junior Staff - Identify project risks and recommend actions to minimize risk. - Perform grey box testing. - Develop test data, cases, and plans and apply technical skills to identify any product issues per defined product functionality. - Assist in running and analyze performance tests. - Create and maintain defects in Defect Tracking System. - Identify, isolate, report and track product defects in the defect tracking system. Qualifications: - Minimum of 4 years experience in SWQA. - Experience in Healthcare arena - BSCS or equivalent technical degree or greater. - Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects - Self-managed proactive work style. - Previous experience working in a start-up/ramp-up environment. - Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills. - Ability to work in a fast paced hosted environment. - High energy team player with excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and creative problem solving skills. - Exposure to IIS, .ASP, .NET Web Applications and SQL Server - Exposure with automation test tools - Database skills with SQL knowledge. - Excellent skills in entering bug reports which can be easily understandable by others. - Although not required, ideal candidate will also have web hosted environment experience and C#, HTML, Java - Proficiency in writing SQL scripts, understanding databases, data models, data validation, and reporting result.
