Just let me know.* Our client in Birmingham is searching for a *Senior Application Systems Analyst* to join their team for a *12 month* opportunity. In this role, you will analyze, design, develop, document, and implement new software applications and maintain and support existing applications to provide information technology solutions for the corporation. You will also coordinate and lead all size projects including large-scale projects requiring multiple systems resources. Serve as a resource and mentor for other IT and business associates. The Application Development department develops, implements, and supports information technology solutions that are either internally developed or purchased from a third party vendor. These applications and systems provide solutions to corporate data processing and information needs. Assist in the development or implementation of new applications and the maintenance of existing applications to ensure timely and accurate processing and reporting. Responsibilities: - Work originates from a request made by an internal business partner and is assigned by an Application Development Manager. - Work with the business partner and IT resources to develop technical solutions. - Participate in various steps in the Systems Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) of project delivery. - Determine how software applications should be designed and implemented considering system and time limitations and business needs. - Working with management, peers, and business partners determine how best to organize project schedules. - Determine the proper platform, data structures and programming languages to be used that will best serve the business in both the short and long term and that conforms to departmental goals and standards. - Determine readiness of assigned tasks and tasks performed by others as relates to the progression of projects through development life cycle and in accordance with App Dev Standards. - Under general direction, analyze, design, code and support applications or modification of applications according to business partner requests; ensure applications and modifications to programming meet necessary business requirements. - Analyze and coordinate system changes and documentation; ensure efficiency and the lack of adverse impact on other systems and applications. - Instruct, direct and review the work of other IT associates; ensure accurate and timely preparation of programming and documentation and adherence to departmental standards and guidelines. - Debug and test applications and systems; ensure applications are operating accurately and efficiently. - Analyze, define, organize and report on tasks for any size projects; develop estimates and track project progress. - Lead all size projects; successfully execute against defined project requirements. Required Skills: - A college degree and 5 years of programming experience, or 5 years programming experience and 3 years of relevant business experience. - Knowledge of programming languages, platforms, and data structures. - Application of project management, program management and software development methodologies. - Research, decision-making and judgment skills. - Problem solving skills. - Analytical thinking skills with the ability to identify, scrutinize, improve, and streamline complex work processes - Ability to work independently. - Flexibility and adaptability. - Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. - Ability to relate to others, inspire others to participate, and mitigate conflict. - Ability to work with others in a professional manner to achieve a common goal. - Ability to motivate, mobilize, and coach associates. - Ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects.
