Performance Tuning Consultant Weschester, NY 4 months Rate - $75/hr on C2C Exp 10+ yrs exp only Performance Tuning Consultant This assignment encompasses the collective analysis of Portal Contact System(PCS), from the; database, application, network, and compute platform aspects. A performance enhancement recommendation, implementation and measurement plan is the first deliverable. Applicant is expected to follow-through, guide and oversee the implementation of recommendations for both short term benefit areas and the longer tactical code/database restructure recommendations as a second deliverable. Applicant should have 10 years experience with proficiency in: J2EE architecture and java code IBM Websphere app server and Websphere Portal Organization and structure of relational databases to support both oltp and ad-hoc reporting using Oracle CA-Siteminder, Sun Http servers Understanding of Cisco WAAS, F5-BigIP, various Firewalls and Proxy servers Decomposition of network traces and log files Decomposition of capacity utilization reports for Solaris, Websphere, Websphere Portal, Oracle RDBMS Understanding of performance collection tools and statistics for the network, operating system resources, Websphere app and portal server and Oracle database Applicant should demonstrate critical analytical skills relating to: identification and separation of issues between network, security, application, database, operating system and middleware identification and setup of performance data collectors at correct instrumentation points identification and isolation of problem points in the application execution and resource consumption chain ability to correlate collected data to actual problem suppositions identification of issues with the database schema, physical implementation, structural(tables, keys, indices) DB opportunities as well as SQL tuning opportunities identification of Java environmental opportunities, code structure and logical construct of objects, data access and memory mapping opportunities.
