*Job Title:* Java Developer – 2 openings
*Work Location:* Rancho Cordova, CA
*Duration:* Contract – 12 months

*Background:* Selected candidate will need to complete a drug screen and
background check.
*Brief Job Description:* The client is hiring two (2) Java Developers to
join an existing contract in Sacramento, CA. The project is the Case
Management, Information and Payrolling System (CMIPS II). This is Phase II
of the project and the Java Developers will join the implementation phase of
the project.
*Highlights of Responsibilities*
- Work closely and effectively with other members of the highly skilled
development team to produce software solutions that satisfy the client’s
business requirements.
- Design software components and systems in conjunction with the
functional analysts. These designs may entail the use of industry best
practices and methodologies.
- Implement, in conjunction with other development team members,
components, libraries, and applications. This software will be written in
Java and comply with the J2EE architecture.
- Produce the necessary documentation for this software. This
documentation will include technical design, standard in-source comments,
and technical deployment detail for production.
- Work with members of the QA team to ensure that the software has
minimal defects and provides the desired functionality and performance
before it is deployed.
- Work closely team management to schedule development activities, report
progress, and in general, improve the team’s ability to deliver high-quality
software in a rapid and predictable manner.
- Communicate with and support other teams, as well as customers,
partners, and vendors, as needed to promote the interests of the business.
- Participate in application architecture and design discussions to
create a systems architecture road map.
- Maintain currency with technology that is pertinent to business and
actively seek to share that knowledge with other team members.
- Provide technical support and assistance to internal client staff as
needed.
*Required Skills*
- *JAVA certification is required (this is a must)*
- Minimum 2 years programming experience developing software using Java
within a J2EE environment. Hands-on development using Java Servlets/JSPs,
JSTL, Struts, JDBC and web services.
- Minimum 2 years of SQL creation and maintenance.
- Proven experience building and troubleshooting web-based applications.
- Very strong SQL skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage own work effort when required.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Proven ability to multitask.
