Here is the job description: Title: .Net Developer Location: Cedar Rapids, IA Duration: 6 months contract to hire *EAD or Green Card or US Citizen Required* The Senior Developer is responsible for building and maintaining web applications including our public facing websites. This includes collaborating with other developers on the team as well as 3rd party consultants to develop solutions to business needs. The Senior Developer will be responsible for designing, constructing and deploying applications with limited supervision and guidance. This position will also be expected to mentor and provide technical direction to other developers on the team. Primary Duties/Accountabilities Work from functional specs and requirements to deliver code that fully meets the business need. Use strong analysis skills to find opportunities for improvement and simplification. Collaborate with business analyst and designer to understand functionality and requirements of applications. Follow-up on questions and frequently share work with team members to ensure requirements are satisfied. Provide accurate effort estimates. Assist with breaking down work units and assigning them to other developers on the team. Help other developers produce accurate effort estimates. Troubleshoot production issues and analyze problems to provide resolution. Participate in the on-call rotation with other developers on the team. Mentor and provide leadership to less experienced developers on the team. Create and maintain technical specifications and support documentation. Communicate status of development projects to management on a regular basis. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong analysis, design, programming and troubleshooting skills. Extensive experience using ASP.NET and C# to build full featured web applications. Experience w SQL Server database and writing SQL queries Experience using version control Experience using CSS to define look and layout of websites LINQ to SQL experience/knowledge would be a big plus SQL Server Reporting Services experience/knowledge would be a plus SQL Server Integration Services experience/knowledge would be a plus Ability to collaboratively work in a small team environment.
