Position : SQL Server DBA Location : East Lansing, MI Duration : 3-6 Months *Rate: $50/hr* *EAD GC / Green Card / US Citizens Only* *Need Local or Nearby Candidates Only* Responsibilities: · Design, install and configure Microsoft SQL Server software and related products in a cluster/non-cluster environment working with cross-functional teams · Administer, monitor, backup/restore, and resolve issues with database systems based on proactive monitoring and incident resolution systems; responds to urgent issues 24x7x365 · Proactively make recommendations for improvements in database technology landscape to improve Database Availability and Database performance · Create, edit, present for team review, and implement standard complexity database designs (working with functional and technical staff members) including granting user access and permissions management · Act as a contributor in the design, modification, implementation and integration of moderate to highly complex databases and database support software as a member of the DBA team. · Migrate database applications and changes from development/test to production environments Job Requirements · Participate in the development of team technical practices, procedures, and policies as a member of the team · Manage ticket assignments and time tracking systems promptly according to departmental standards · Participate in after-hours availability rotation schedule as part of application administration team; requires some evening and weekend work · Contribute as a team member to the support of SSRS and SSIS reporting and data extraction tools · Contribute as a team member to design, deployment and optimization of database schema, index, design and modeling initiatives.
