*PERL Developer w/ Java, UNIX, Autosys and TIVOLI (Network monitoring tool) *
*Herndon, VA* *Rate is 65 /hr C2C* *6+Mts* Perl Developer -- Enterprise Monitoring and Management Sources Participate as a team member in implementing integrated enterprise monitoring systems to detect, correlate, and report faults from infrastructure and application components. Developer performs complex (i.e. application modules) analysis, design, development and unit testing of software applications from user requirements and design documents. The candidate also resolves defects encountered during various testing cycles. Specific duties include: • Develop tools, interfaces, or wrappers to support integration across multiple management interfaces. • Develop the logic, scripts, and programs for the distributed agents and probes that collect, process, and forward events to the centralized monitoring and reporting system. • Contribute to the configuration and customization of distributed agents (ITM) and scripts for monitoring platforms and applications • Work closely with business application groups to understand and prioritize their requirements for the effective implementation of monitoring solutions and to maximize the effectiveness of the monitoring environment. • Understand API logic to develop interfaces to support streamlined integration across various platforms. • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (desired). • Five to eight years’ experience as a developer (systems engineering, integration, and implementation) • High level of interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills. • Direct experience in MicroMuse SSM administration, troubleshooting, and customization. Technical Skill Requirements: Programming and scripting: • Mandatory: advanced PERL, including PERL DBI, and/or Java; SNMP; MIB-II • Mandatory: BOURNE/KORN/C-shell and/or C programming • Mandatory: UNIX platform skills • Desirable: database interfaces (Oracle) Enterprise monitoring and management technologies: • Desirable: Tivoli ITM, Tivoli NetCool Omnibus, Impact, WebGUI, HP BAC (Topaz), HTTP, XML • Monitored environments: SUSE Linux, Solaris, Oracle, Sybase, DNS, Web firewalls, fireproofs, load balancers, global load balancers, portals • Microsoft Office tools (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word). • Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP and SNMP Management Protocols. • Demonstrated Strong knowledge of Linux Personal Skills: Strong technical leadership skills. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and persistence. Ability to understand strategic direction and target architecture. Ability to understand cross-platform distribution/migration processes, and to document, develop and implement more efficient and reliable procedures. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and ability to apply them appropriately in gathering requirements and making recommendations. Ability to develop a strong business relationship with individuals on the project team, partners and customers.
