*Must-haves* - Hands-on DB2 DBA experience with IBM DB2 z/OS - Extensive experience in SAP Environment - DB2 on z/OS / zSeries and SAP – technical and leadership capabilities - SAP on Z/Linux experience - Recent proven solid experience in DB2 V9 / V10, including LOB processing, partitioning large tables, stored procedures, DB2 Connect, and DB2 Utilities - Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task - Knowledgeable in using NetWeaver, Database Tools (CA or IBM), Detector, and navigating SAP with various T-codes and Menus - Understand High Availability requirements in a SAP/DB2 z/OS settings - Capable of tuning active dynamic SQL and finding expensive SQL queries using DSC - Excellent understanding of monitoring and tuning in SAP ECC landscapes - Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) *Plusses* - IBM DB2 V9 / V10 for z/OS Certification - with solid experience - Experience and training with SAP Solution Manager - Verifiable references - Must be team player *Role* - Problem Analysis/Determination in SAP R/3 with IBM DB2 V9 / V10 for z/OS - Performance Tuning at all levels (sub-system, Applications, Database, SQL) on the fly or proactively using various tools: SAP NetWeaver, CCMS, DSC, Explain facility, and diverse SAP Transactions. - Interact with DBA’s, DB2 Engineer, DASD, Network and z/OS teams in finding effective solutions - Support internal/external customers and other DBA’s with issues originating in SAP systems - Provide SAP/DB2 training/knowledge transfer to various DBA’s when required - Open SAP/IBM tickets and work with vendors, when necessary - Support SAP DBA activities associated with system copy refresh activities using homogeneous system copy Procedures - Be involved in on-call rotation and shift work - Research SAP notes and IBM APARS/PTFs in problem resolution - Attend team meetings and significantly contribute solutions - Configuration of SAP’s Corrections and Transport System (CTS). - Define and enforce procedures for the promotion of configuration and development objects from SAP’s Development environment, to Quality Assurance, and finally to Production. - Control and perform transport management utilizing the Transport Management System (STMS). - Implement system performance processes to develop system buffer and memory configuration and/or adjustments to ensure system efficiency in alignment with industry standards. - Administer a variety of activities including: SAP Router administration, kernel upgrades, modify SAP delivered code per SAP OSS notes, hot pack and HR support pack administration and strategic planning for system/client architecture. - Administer and communicate with SAP’s Early Watch Service and 3rd party software vendors (ex: Highjump, IXOS, BSI Tax Factory, etc.) to provide ongoing system performance and reliability. - Manage SAP system homogeneous copy, client refresh and systems synchronization to improve business system development. - Troubleshoot and resolve SAP NetWeaver production issues. - Research through Online Support System (OSS) for accelerated problem solving that includes debugging and system logic error correction to SAP NetWeaver technical and non-technical users. - Plan and implement SAP NetWeaver systems upgrades. - Plan, implement and administer archiving tools to control the database growth rate. - Install and configure RFC connections to internal and external systems interfacing with SAP. - Develop Disaster Recovery procedures and participate in DR testing. - Coach other SAP project personnel to ensure functionality is developed in a way that complies with business requirements and established methodologies. - Strong customer focus and management of client expectations; ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence in the IT group’s knowledge. ________________________ Warm Regards, Emraaz Khan• Sr Technical Recruiter • Panzer Solutions 45 Stuart Ave • K Unit • Norwalk, CT • 06850 Office: 203-652-1454 Ext 109 • Email: emr...@panzersolutions.com *Notice of Confidentiality: The information contained herein is intended only for the confidential use of the recipient.
