We truly need someone with extensive experience architecting Sitecore sites from the ground up. We need to build out the Sitecore UI to support our 2500+ customer sites. Each customer site will have its own set of products. The larger customer sites could have 10,000+ products. The ultimate goal would be to enable each site to inherit from a main template as well as allow for customization for each independent site.
