Individual will define ETL vision, strategy, principles and standards. He/She will play a critical role in providing framework, stewardship, governance and decision making for management; This position will be responsible for : · Perform Data Analysis for medium to complex data mapping. · Capacity planning for the Data Warehouse environment in order to keep production and development areas fully functioning while also assisting developers with performance issues from in server/PX and general CPU and Memory Utilization due to PX · Strong Datastage Server skills to maintain existing server jobs in current CDW area · Very strong PX performance tuning skills which includes analyzing the mappings / dump score and coming up with a solid recommendation. · Should have a very solid understanding of all the CONFIGURATION parameters in PX and its impact on the underlying operating system · The applicant must be solution oriented in recommending and implementing industry best strategies for ETL to boost performance. · The role requires learning the entire UNIX DW platform which includes strong skills in Shell Scripting and Oracle 10g • Provide accurate and timely estimate to technical lead / project manager on any ETL related assignment · Designs and develops software modules which adhere to published standards for coding and design to solve business problems as outlined in the functional specifications. · 24/7 Production support responsibilities to react to DB Architecture related failures. · Research and correct production issues encountered during and after implementation that are found in systems · Balancing the needs of delivery with adherence to architectural standards · Performs impact analysis for systems/database /ETL modifications · Analyzing functional specifications and assist in designing potential technical solutions · Designs software modules which adhere to published standards for coding and design to solve business problems as outlined in the functional specifications. · Looking for opportunities for the process improvements and recommend feasible implementation options. · Technical proficiency in application development including systems design experience, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. · Experience with high-volume load processing into Data warehouse databases. · Guidance of programmers with respect to ETL coding Techniques · Oracle 10g database tuning skills will be a big plus · Knowledge in Oracle 11g will be a plus · Very strong shell scripting skills will be a big plus · Basic Unix admin skills will be a big plus · Prior understanding of PHARMA data will a big plus *Minimum requirements * · UNIX ( IBM – AIX ) Shell Scripting-6-8 Years · Architecture skills-6-8 Years · Data Design · Database Design · PLSQL Programming-6-8 Years · DB Performance Tuning-Plus · Hands on Knowledge of 1 ETL tool-6 -8Years · ERWIN Modeling-Plus · Knowledge in Pharma Area Plus · Excellent Communication Skills · Meta-Data Management Expertise is a plus · Syncsort or any Sort Unix utility is a plus · Hardware knowledge in platform upgrades related to UNIX servers (CPU or memory ) is a plus · Excellent Communication skills.
