*Role - Data Security Architect – Data Protection* * Location - Raleigh, NC Duration - 12+ Months* *Opportunity Overview:* *Job Title:* Data Security Architect – Data Protection *Duration: *Contract *Location*: Raleigh, NC *Data Security Architect - Data Protection Opportunity located in Raleigh, North Carolina* *The Company:* Our client is one of the largest Fortune 500 banking organizations in the US. *MUST HAVE:* - Ideal candidate must have Data Protection experience - Data Classification and Data Validation experience *Primary Purpose:* - The Enterprise Data Security Architect is responsible for the definition and maintenance of data security architecture, with focus on creating security strategy, researching emerging technology, and applying technology to enable business solutions. - Partner with lines of business (LOBs) to understand business needs, and align the data security architecture and governance direction to meet those needs. - Champion the use of technology to drive secure, efficient, effective data management processes. - The Enterprise Data Security Architect must demonstrate knowledge and skill in data warehousing and transactional application data concepts and technology. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Specific activities may change from time to time. - Manage data strategy and roadmap to influence data and LOB decision making. - Provide leadership in enterprise data inventory and classification ensuring appropriate security policies are applied according to classification. - Exhibit a basic understanding of enterprise data integration technologies (e.g. extract, transform and load (ETL), enterprise application integration (EAI), enterprise information integration (EII)) and future technology direction. - Research technology for application within the company to enhance efficiency and value. Build business case for acquiring, integrating and implementing high-value technology and processes for data warehousing, business intelligence and transactional applications. - Provide thought leadership in the definition and articulation of data security architecture technologies, approaches and design. - Establish strong relationships with key LOB and technology stakeholders and create convergence by demonstrating credibility, empathy and expertise on business and technical issues. - Maintain professional contacts with other financial institutions, vendors and professional organizations concerning existing and developing data governance, data quality, data warehousing and business intelligence technologies. - Partner with IT subject-matter experts to find data (resource) sharing opportunities, ensure that data is easily shared across the enterprise and that business personnel have access to data, as required. - Help coordinate and prioritize required IT data management initiatives among LOBs. - Assist with establishing rules and guidelines for data security architecture, data warehousing, data integration and data confidentiality. - Help define and establish a data governance process to include enterprise business data governance, business data definition and data conformance that will develop and monitor the governance policies required to ensure data integrity. - Assist with establishing a process for the use of data security architecture frameworks to include business data management, business intelligence, data quality and data usage. - Participate in architecture reviews of applications as part of the project lifecycle. Ensure that data governance processes are established and integrated in existing systems as well as in the formation of new and revised systems. *Required Skills and Competencies: * The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
