Manage all primary on-call DBA activities such as checking on table space problems, checking for fragmentation, . checking on nightly/weekly backup problems, responding to any Oracle errors, and deadlock conditions . Provide expect Oracle technical input and support for database upgrade projects and implement these game plans for the upgrades . Set up, configure and maintain the data replication tools such as Oracle streams and AQ. . Set up, configure and maintain the physical standby databases with Data Guard for switch and failover scenarios . Work closely with development DBA teams on trouble-shooting SQL issues impacting database performance and uptime SLAs . Produce detailed game plans for monthly or quarterly database partition maintenance tasks . Design and implement High Availability (HA) solutions using Real Application Clusters (RAC) using Automatic Storage Manager (ASM). . Produce the game plans and also write the scripts to perform regular DB reorganizations and SAN space reclamation . Design, and implement database backup/restore infrastructure using Oracle RMAN, Sun/Hitachi Shadow Copy technology, and Netbackup tools .
