*Title* *Perform Windows Server System Administration for the Mortgage LOB servers* *Duration* 6 - 9 Months *Pay Rate * Open *Location* NY *Job Description* Description: Performs administrative activities required to support a Windows platform in a production trading environment. Provide system administration, operational support, problem resolution, and perform hardware and software installations and upgrades. Monitor system performance and capacity. Forecasts system demands, recommends upgrades, expansion and reconfiguration. Troubleshoots problems and takes appropriate corrective action and or interacts with IT staff or vendors in performing complex testing, support and troubleshooting functions. Documents standards and operating procedures for the system and acts as a technical resource to IT staff and system users. Manages projects and work related tasks. Configure and support new servers. Participate in the On-Call pager rotation, troubleshoot problems and take appropriate corrective actions. Participate in the root cause analyses as needed. Implement servers for the Mortgage LOB new initiatives and document Infrastructure Recovery plans and Operations procedures for the servers. Keep managers/team leaders informed of the progress and issues and collaborate with team members and business partners. *Requirements: * The ideal candidate for this position will have 5 years experience supporting and working in Windows arena. (*4-5 years experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems*.) S/he should have proven ability to perform troubleshooting, load balancing and resource allocation in a production environment. Production experience with Windows 2003 server required; experience with *SAN attached* systems preferred; large server environment experience preferred; Microsoft clustering experience preferred; *VMWARE ESX 3.0.x* experience preferred; *SQL experience a plus*; IIS experience a plus; MOM experience a plus; Citrix experience a plus; NAS experience a plus; Veritas Storage Foundation experience a plus. Candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in documenting Operations and Recovery procedures. She/he also must have good interpersonal and organizational skills. The candidate's experience should also include work with *Clusters, Powerpath, TSM client administration, and EMC Storage Arrays* other similar tools. Candidates should be able to manage day to day activities such as *administration, software installation, OS upgrades and OS trouble shooting.* Candidates should understand *Intel Hardware*, *Windows security, TCP/IP network concepts*, and VMware. Candidates must be able to analyze basic performance to identify system bottlenecks and suggest corrective action.
