Job Title: WINDOWS/ESX Administrator
Location: NC
Project Duration: 6+ Months
Rate: 45 - 50/hr
Responsibilities
The Windows/ESX administrator is responsible for front-line support and
maintenance of the Windows and ESX systems globally. This role is
accountable for the troubleshooting and resolution of all Windows and ESX
support issues/requests. The primary focus of this role is incident and
problem management.
Responsibilities Include:
a.. Production support and maintenance of all Windows and ESX servers
globally
b.. Provide immediate response to all known alerts to the Windows and
ESX environment.
c.. Appropriate escalations to regional support teams
d.. User account administration and access control management
e.. Provide day to day frontline technical and developer support for
critical business and trading systems
f.. Provide diagnostic support and act as interface to vendors for all
failing components within the system
g.. Involvement with escalations and incident management including post
incident reporting
h.. Problem troubleshooting, root cause analysis and driving both short
and long-term solutions
Qualifications:
Essential Skills
a.. Bachelor in Computer Science or Engineering
b.. 3 to 5 years experience in Windows and ESX administration
c.. Knowledge of Windows and ESX and other core system tools. Required,
3 years.
d.. Knowledge of disk management tools such as Disk suite and Veritas
Volume manager. Required, 3 years.
e.. Knowledge of clustering tools such as Microsoft Cluster server.
Required, 2 years.
f.. Knowledge of SAN technology and its impact on the server
environment. Required, 2 years.
g.. Troubleshooting Skills. Required, 3 years.
h.. TCPIP. Required, 3 years.
i.. Shell Scripting. Required, 3 years.
j.. Distributed Systems Management. Required, 3+ years.
Desired Skills
Knowledge of system management tools such as Control-M and
a.. Netbackup. Optional, 2 years.
b.. Knowledge of EMC Powerpath software
c.. Performance analysis and tuning. Required, 2 years.
d.. HP and IBM Blades.
e.. 2 years experience in financial industry
f.. Excellent written and oral communications skills
