Hi friends, Please read the requirement and sent matching profiles only We need only locals or near by to MI for F2F interview Job Title: Application Developer Sr, Location: Detroit, MI Duration: 3 Months Rate: OPEN (ALAP) Desired Start Date: 8/10/2009 Estimated End Date: 11/30/2009 *This role requires an expert in Cognos who can work independently and produce results from day one. * *Role Responsibilities: * ** · Work with data architects to develop data models, design specifications, and metadata. · Design and create complex framework manager models. · Participate in architecture and design of Cognos solutions. · Lead reviews and proof of concepts (POCs) as new enhancements are made available to the Cognos platform. · Primary contributor in the development and architecting of Cognos reporting solutions. · Create documentation and procedures with system deliverables, application design, and changes planned for production environment. · Full life cycle methodology including change management processes and ensuring changes are properly tested and migrated to production. · Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to less experienced staff members. · Must be comfortable interacting with senior management and client end-users. *Required Skills and Experience: * ** · A degree in Computer Science or MIS is preferred, with up to 5 yrs of proven success working in a Cognos and data environment. · 5 years minimum of Cognos experience with at least 2 years of modeling experience on Cognos BI 8 platform. · Strong analytic, problem solving, and collaborative skills. · Strong data modeling skills (Normalized and Multidimensional for Data Marts, including Star Schema, Snow-Flake Modeling, Fact and Dimensional Modeling). · Extensive knowledge in SQL programming / Store procedures. · Experience and expertise working with Oracle. · Ability to design, creates, and refresh Power Play cubes using Power Play transformer. · Experience designing and developing reports charts, graphs and dashboards a plus. · A solid background in database methodologies and programming (e.g. stored procedures, SQL). · Experienced in implementing Cognos Security and in report creation with Report Studio, and Analysis Studio. · Possess *very strong *written and verbal communication skills and strong analytic, problem solving, and collaborative skills.
