Job Title: Java/Flex Developer Location: New York Duration: 8 Months *Phone interview then face to face* About the Position The position is for an experienced developer to contribute to the continual evolution of the BDS MORCOM platform. This is a critical role that will have a significant impact on Broker Dealer Services. In this role you will be responsible for the design and development of client-side applications and platform components based on object-oriented design patterns and best practices. You will be responsible for driving object-oriented analysis, design, development, platform-specific build and packaging, deployment and productions support for BDS MORCOM. You will ensure delivery of a quality solution in a timely fashion in accordance with existing process and control guidelines. You will partner with all the key team members across Broker Dealer Services in a highly collaborative environment to complete objectives. In this role you must have a deep understanding of, and industry experience developing in, the following: OOAD, OOPLs, Application Servers, HTML, Flash/Flex, JavaScript, Ajax, GTK, XML, SOAP, Web Services and Core Java. You must have working knowledge of architecture and design patterns, and SQL and stored procedures. You must have experience with code management and packaging in J2EE environments (Subversion, Maven, Ant, etc), and the software development life-cycle, from requirements gathering, to detailed design, development, testing and deployment preparation. About the candidate You are smart, innovative, talented, resourceful, self-motivated and passionate. You have at least 4 years of application development experience, of which 3 years have been focused on Java/J2EE development and web technologies. You have experience developing in at least one UI framework (i.e. Swing, Eclipse-RCP) combined with prior experience web-based Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) development using technologies such as Adobe Flex, AJAX and JavaScript.
