*Position : Software Configuration Management Location : Nashville, TN Duration : 4-6 Months Contract* *Must-haves* Organize, plan, and implement CM Responsible for all software source control, scripting and executing software builds, deployments, tracking of builds, security management of tool access, and repository reporting. Lead role in deployment planning and coordination including; resource allocations, schedule, back out plans and procedures. Software Build and Deployment: Perform regular software release build and deployment based on defined process and procedure, including PowerBuilder, C programs, UNIX Scripts, Oracle PL/SQL build and deployment. Manage, maintain and deploy to development and test environments that consist of multiple Server and Oracle on Solaris platform. Interface with developers, test users; communicate with technical, management, and external teams to identify and resolve problems. Investigate problems to determine their root cause, including conducting research, interviews, and evidence gathering; and writing reports of findings, conclusions, and recommendations for subsequent actions. Ensure a library is established and maintained for all fielded software, software in development, testing and superseded software baselines. Collect and organize software material and documentation for all baselines Perform software builds for the server and client; be able to re-create software baseline builds for previous versions. Prepare Configuration Management reports; Supporting project and project audits *Experience:* B.S. in computer science, MIS or equivalent experience required. Minimum 3 years experience with Rational ClearCase/ClearQuest A solid understanding of UNIX based operating systems; Experience designing version control strategy that supports parallel development and multiple projects. In depth knowledge of software configuration management concepts such as branching files, merging branches, build and patch strategies, and support parallel development project teams. Possess good analytical skills, with ability to develop solutions independently, and be capable of working under limited direction towards predefined objectives. Ability to solve problems quickly and completely, and document solutions. Provide links to documentation you've written, if possible. Ability to identify recurring tasks which require automation and automate them. Preferred: ITIL Certified, The ability to define processes based on information obtained from a range of technical and non-technical teams. *Responsibilities:- *The position encompasses assisting developers in using the ClearCase Software Configuration Management application, installing & upgrading the software to the latest possible version, contributing to system integrations and maintaining an appropriate and productive relationship with internal customers. This role will perform duties in support of the software development life cycle. The individual assigned to this position shall be primarily responsible for the configuration management of software baselines. Configuration Manager will develop and maintain CMMi based policies and procedures to control and manage project related items and baselines. Candidate will build and maintain functional baselines, exercise version control, and control changes through the baselines and ensure traceability of all work products.
