*Position: Java Developer* *Location: Herndon, VA* *and Philadelphia, PA* *Duration: 6+ month* *Onsite interview* The position descriptions are attached. The Sr. Java Developers will be located in Herndon, VA and Philadelphia, PA. There will be 10% travel for a day here and there for a client meeting, but back that night. Very little over night travel, if any. These are 6+ month contracts. Our client prefers to have a face to face interview and local candidates. If that is not possible, Skype interviews will be considered. Once a candidate clears the first round we will schedule the next steps. *Qualifications * · Strong development skills in Java/J2EE with 7+ years of experience. · Experience working as a Lead Developer and as a hands on developer. · Strong understanding and development experience in Web Services (REST and SOAP) · Experience working with relational databases (ORACLE, MYSQL) · Experience in the Linux/Unix environment · Spring, Spring boot, Hibernate · Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills · Experience with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence a plus · Experience in the telecom or cable industry a plus · Experience with front end JavaScript/HTML5 including AngularJS a plus · Ability to work both independently and collaboratively are key · Candidates should be self-motivated and ready to hit the ground running · Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to present to large and small groups. · Working experience with NOSQL databases (Couchbase, MongoDB) a plus · Proven ability to perform well in a deadline-sensitive environment. · Agile/Scrum development methodology desirable. · Bachelor's degree *Preferred Qualifications: * · Demonstrated success in high volume, low latency business critical systems · Working experience with Apache Kafka, AWS, CloudFoundry, Akka · Experience in solving difficult technology problems and performing code performance analysis *Responsibilities:* · Design, develop, and debug web-based software solutions, with a focus on Java, API's/ back-end services and relational database technologies. · Lead the development of software requirements related to areas of programming and product expertise. · Analyze, review, and rewrite programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt to new program requirements. · Effectively communicate and resolve issues with cross functional groups to escalate issues or changes in scope. · Communicate clearly and concisely with clients, customers and management.
