PhD preferred. * 4-7+ years hands-on experience in Java-based, data-driven web application development * Ability to comprehend detailed project specifications as well as the ability to adapt to various technologies and frameworks * Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to either work individually or work in a team * Strong work ethic * Effective verbal + written communication skills *Specific Technical Skills…* * Solid Java 1.6+ and J2EE background (servlet, JDBC), strong OO skills preferred * Solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design * Strong algorithm experience * Strong experience with multi-threaded and highly scalable server-side development * Understanding of web optimization techniques (server/client side caching, compression, distributed caching, etc.) * Deep understand of SOA and web service concepts with RESTful webservices * MUST HAVE Spring or Restlet Framework experience - experience with Java Server Frameworks (Spring 3 - Core/MVC/AOP) and Java Persistence Frameworks (Hibernate) * Solid understanding of web data formats (XML, JSON) * Background in security and Encryption (RSA, MD5, etc) *Desired Skills…* * Search experience - such as improving search functionalities for web/mobile users * Coding skills in Javascript, SQL, and knowledge of HTTP, TCP/IP and network programming is a plus * Experience with Scrum is preferred * Experience with unit test (JUnit), understanding of TTD concept is preferred Selected candidate will need to complete a standard client required drug and background verification.
