May be in future we can get in touch. * **Position : Linux System Administrator (Tier 3 Support)* *Location : Cary, NC* *Duration : 3 Months + * * * *Start Date: ASAP.* * * *Job Description* * * Seeking experienced Senior Linux Systems Administrator\Architect in a fast- paced environment that will be responsible for supporting Enterprise systems in our datacenters. This person will serve as a senior member of a dynamic team of system administrators and architects who are responsible for the design, implementation, and support of a high availability Linux Enterprise environment. Duties will involve design documentation, hands-on hardware installation of new environments, and enhancing\streamlining existing systems. This environment will exclusively rely upon virtualization technologies which we utilize all VMware products, and also consist of Linux, Windows, and a network of heterogeneous hardware. *Responsibilities* · Design, implement and support a new RHEL and Oracle Linux environment · Provide day-to-day configuration, monitoring, and support for our production environment at data centers · Respond quickly to outages as reported via email, telephone, and/or paging. Participate in production On-Call rotation. · Administer / configure monitoring platforms (i.e. Cacti, Nagios, or other SNMP tools) to ensure optimal performance · Test and apply new software and maintenance patches · Design and document processes and procedures to automate common tasks · Work with software engineers, operational, application, and other IT teams to troubleshoot issues · Implement monitoring and maintenance procedures to ensure system availability and performance · Perform backups and implement sound procedures for application recovery · Collaborate with Network Engineering and SAN Engineering team to ensure: o Scalability and performance of storage infrastructure for production systems o Reliability/resilience of application through network-layer and system-layer redundancy *Experience and Skill Requirements* · 5-7 years of hands-on experience with designing, deploying RHEL (4.x and 5.x) or Centos servers in a production environment with availability SLA's exceeding 99.9%. · 3-5 years of hands-on experience with TCP/IP and server load-balancing equipment. Cisco or F5 experience a big plus. · 3-5 years of experience with system and application performance monitoring and tuning. · 3+ years of experience managing VMware ESX environments and implementing virtualized servers. · 3+ years participating in security audits, preferably in PCI, SOX or GLBA environments. · 3+ years’ experience with server clustering, load balancing and replication · 3+ years’ experience with Apache, PHP, LDAP, Radius, ssh, Kerberos, etc. · 3+ years’ experience with scripting and automation (Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell, etc.) · 3+ Experience developing and performing Disaster Recovery plans and tests. · 3+ years’ experience with file system and storage tuning and management · Experience with supporting enterprise applications such as Oracle Financials and Oracle databases running on Linux · Must be able to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and effectively · Ability to understand and utilize web technologies, open source software and shell scripting. · Ability to accomplish multiple projects under minimal supervision. · Mentor junior Linux systems administrators · Off-hour and weekend work will be sometimes required *Education* · *Minimum 4-year degree in Engineering or Computer Science or related field or degree from Technical Trade School or equivalent experience.* * Thanks & Regards, Bhageerath| Sr. Resourcing Specialist SYSTEL INC.
