Desirable: 2+ years of Wall Street / Financial applications Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge Essential: Java development (5-7yrs) Web development (4-6yrs) J2EE, Servlets, JSP (4-6yrs) HTML, Javascript (4-6yrs) AJAX (4+yrs) Spring, Struts (3+yrs) SQL (3-5yrs) SOA, Web Services (SOAP/REST) Software design & architecture Agile/iterative development practices Unix skills / scripting Desirable: ExtJS Coherence or other caching frameworks Weblogic Sybase / stored procedures Linux Contribute to the design and development of a strategic external client-facing Web application platform for the client's HOLT business. Apply strong engineering acumen with a focus on performance and scalability and agile development practices to building a best-in-class valuation platform servicing a large number of clients. Responsibilities include reviewing business requirements, creating implementation plans, creating and reviewing software architecture and design, application implementation, supporting QA and release cycles, ongoing application enhancements, application support including troubleshooting and interfacing with other development teams, and other duties as appropriate. Additional flavor: Everybody has Struts, Spring, Hibernate, J2EE, etc etc on their resume, and those skills aren't really un short supply. What I'm really looking for is somebody who does have the server-side Java skills, but brings some real rich front-end experience to the table. Real strength in the RIA and AJAX space, having worked on a high-profile site that made extensive use of dynamic interfaces with AJAX - the person having real skills in performance-optimizing that aspect, thinning the DOM, run-time analysis, etc. Somebody who can be the expert on that aspect, Javascript expert, very familiar with ExtJS or similar framework.
