*Job Title: SAP Basis Administrator* *Location of Job - City: Sacrament, CA * *Type of Business: Utility Company* *Start Date: 6/21/10 * *Length of Contract: 10 months* *Target Bill Pay Rate: Open * *Experience Level: 3-5 Years * * Education Requirements: Bachelors or Equivalent work experience* * * *Job Description: * *Purpose * Seeking an SAP Basis Administrator who possesses hands-on SAP Basis administration experience and has proven experience in the daily monitoring, advanced troubleshooting, proactive system analysis, standard SAP Basis administration activities, and management of complex SAP landscapes including these SAP products (ECC, BW, Solution Manager, and Enterprise Portal). This individual should have experience in multiple SAP release installations and experience in system landscape migration in large scale and complex landscape environments. *Essential * *Functions * • Supports SAP system software and hardware infrastructure (ECC, BW, Enterprise Portal, Solution Manager, Oracle, Solaris, AIX); planning, executing and communicating a normal maintenance schedule; analyzing, communicating, and resolving problems for non-planned down times; scheduling and implementing back-up and restore components of the SAP production and non-production environments; provide support for the District SAP batch processing and printing function; and assist in SAP upgrade planning (ECC, BW, EP, NetWeaver and other components). • Analyzes the need for modifications, upgrades and enhancements to existing SAP system software and/or hardware by evaluating the effectiveness of the current system; providing consulting expertise to functional teams and technical staff; and coordinating, planning and executing enhancement activities. • Supports the SAP infrastructure by managing the SAP/R3 environment; monitoring systems including database, operating system and SAP/R3; coordinating and communicating with SAP functional staff, SAP technical support staff and other technical support organizations. • Plans, coordinates, prioritizes, monitors and guides work activities with work unit employees. Provides leadership and participate in assigned tasks of a work unit in order to meet defined unit goals and schedules; and comply with District schedule, quality, quantity, safety and performance standards. *Minimum * *Qualifications * Previous role as SAP technical all rounder to provide support and guidance to SAP Basis team or large contribution to several SAP Basis projects. *• 3+ years experience as an SAP Basis Administrator or expert. * *• SAP applications operating system administration (IBM AIX and SUN Solaris).* *• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.* *• Strong customer focus and management of client expectations.* *• Excellent teamwork skills. * *• Can work with minimum supervision. * *• Demonstration of the following key leadership behaviors: Change/process improvement, problem solving, information-sharing and planning/organizing. * KNOWLEDGE OF: · Principals of systems analysis; · SAP NetWeaver-related technologies such as SLD, NWDI, CE, etc.; · In-depth familiarity, understanding and techniques of SAP R/3 architecture, SAP database, network, system monitoring, system performance configuration, tuning techniques and SAP toolsets; · Familiarity with SAP security, backup and restore processes; · Concepts of Unix operating system environment and Oracle database and tools; familiarity in SAP Database/Oracle, Oracle utilities for reorganization and recovering and Unix/Solaris/AIX operating system; · English grammar, punctuation and vocabulary standards. SKILL TO: · Compile and prepare technical, statistical and/or analytical reports and presentations; · Analyze complex issues and develop and implement resolution alternatives; analyze procedures and systems and develop and implement operational improvements; · Evaluate and resolve complex technical issues and problems; · Express ideas/facts clearly and concisely to individual or groups; read and interpret plans, diagrams and specifications; monitor and tune the SAP database; communicate effectively orally and in writing internally/externally; · Establish and maintain effective working relationships internally/externally EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Experience: 3-5 years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in information technology with 3 years experience in end-to-end development, implementation and support of SAP R/3 systems in a Unix environment working with current release of SAP, Oracle database and tool sets. Education: BA/BS and/or MS/MA degree from an accredited college or university majoring in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
