Summary:
Under the direction of the manager or other senior personnel, the
Telecommunications Project Lead will manage, analyze, administer,
coordinate, and plan the voice communication network within the Company.
Employees in this job classification function are
responsible for designing, planning, coordinating, the IP PBX
telecommunication systems and related systems and are also
responsible for voice mail systems to assure efficient, scalable and
reliable service to the user community.  In addition they are the
lead person in the department and are responsible for all aspects of the
system and providing leadership and guidance to others.
Performs related work as directed.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leads in the design, implementation, and maintenance of Voice Communications
systems and services, including, but not limited to, VoIP, TDM, SIP
services, automated call distribution, voice mail, unified messaging, and
audio conferencing.
Manage current voice and WAN technologies, troubleshoot problems, and
perform moves/adds/and changes.
Implement new services, including WAN connectivity, wireless communications,
etc.
Define, implement, and oversee the daily operational processes for
telecommunications systems.
Produce utilization reports and perform capacity planning.
Define, plan, and coordinate telecommunications projects.
Manage relationships with Telcos, ISPs, and equipment vendors.
Monitor and document the operation of voice, data, and or video
telecommunications equipment and systems.
Provide 24x7 on-call support and escalation to Network and Telephony
carriers

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Telecommunications, Data Processing,
Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
This position requires at least six years of experience in a similar
capacity, or in a related technology field.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

CCVP, ACS, CCIP, CCNP, CCSP, JNCIS certification or 6+ years equivalent
level of experience in phone and network systems,
including Avaya PBX, voice mail, Call Center applications, Juniper and Cisco
Routers, Switches and Firewalls.
Experience working in a large networking environment desired
Experience in Telco provisioning, including ordering circuits, coordination
with remote sites, acceptance and implementation of CPE.
In-depth knowledge of communications services (T3, T1, frame relay, DSL,
ISDN, etc) and their appropriate implementation for

corporate network and telecommunications solutions.
In-depth knowledge in SIP, traditional (TDM) PBX platforms, VoIP and H.323
signaling.
Experience with Avaya platforms: S87xx & CM 4.xx & up & ESS Servers with a
proficient background in BSR to remote locations,
IP Network Regions, SIP, ISDN & IP Trunking. Must also have a strong
background in AES Servers and CMS.
Experience with Call Center Applications that directly interface with the
AVAYA PBX, such as CCE, AES, Call Recording, Last
Agent & Priority Routing, Reporting, ScreenPop, Email, WebChat and CRM
integration.  Must possess the ability to understand
emerging Call Center technologies.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot data communications issues using
appropriate monitoring and diagnostic tools.
Experience with LAN/WAN technologies such as Cisco and Juniper routers,
switches and firewalls are required.
Knowledge of Server Load balancing and WAN Optimization technologies is
desirable.
Knowledge of SNMP and system/traffic monitoring tools like Nagios, Cacti,
TACACS, SolarWinds, Wireshark, etc.
Strong verbal, written communication skills, project management and
self-initiative skills are required.
Proficient with Visio, Project, PowerPoint and SharePoint is required.
Basic knowledge of UNIX, Linux and MS Windows operating systems.
Basic knowledge of virtualization and system partitioning technologies
including VMWARE.
Basic knowledge of storage architectures including SAN and NAS technologies,
data replication technologies and file systems.

Project Management
Advanced data networking concepts – switches, routers, IP addressing
schemes, VLANS, network design
Avaya S87xx, S85xx, S88xx & ESS Servers
Avaya G450, G650 & G700 Gateways
Modular Messaging, CMS, AES, CCE, CSI & CTI Applications
Call Recording, and Call Detail Record (CDR) applications

Supervisory and Leadership Responsibilities:
This job requires the individual to perform a leadership role in the
department providing training and guidance to junior personnel.

Additional Job Information:
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry offerings and their potential
uses within the business.
Ensures all system failures and alerts are responded to based on the urgency
and criticality.
