Location : Atlanta, GA
Duration : 6 Months Contract
Job Description:
REQUIRED:
System Administration experience requiring strong knowledge of (in priority
order):
UNIX
Apache
PHP
JBoss
Bash
Perl
Responsibilities include (not limited to):
Supporting the various customer-facing applications within all phases of
the SDLC (DEV, QA, STAGING), including the systems on which they run.
Research and evaluate new applications that will provide new improved
feature functionality and efficiencies to optimize the existing
infrastructure. This includes working with network and systems engineering
teams to provide holistic solutions for future projects.
Documentation of system designs, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting
procedures.
Enforcement of systems standards, policies and procedures in regards to
hardware and operating system selection, configuration, and deployment.
Research and documentation of application best practices for performance,
security, and stability.
Capacity planning and hardware sizing.
Planning and implementing disaster recovery and high availability for
critical systems.
Troubleshooting of application, operating system and hardware problems.
Ability to communicate effectively with business counterparts.
Ability to perform with limited supervision.
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
Ability to lead others with no direct supervision responsibility.
Extensive experience with installation, configuration and tuning of
web-based applications running on Apache, JBoss, and/or WebLogic.
Strong working knowledge of Solaris or Red Hat Enterprise Linux system
administration, engineering and architecture.
Understanding of TCP/IP Networking including OSI Model and basic UNIX
system level network troubleshooting skills.
Requires strong knowledge of UNIX, Bash, Perl, PHP, Apache, and JBoss.
