Job functions include configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure. Apply network engineering principles and techniques to provide hands on support to end users. Qualified candidates should have experience creating and maintaining documentation of processes, network configurations, network diagrams, and working with outsourced vendors to facilitate and achieve successful troubleshooting and implementations. Qualifications -Position requires a 5-8 years data network (LAN/WAN) experience with progressive responsibility as a data network engineer/analyst (or similar capacity). -The ideal candidate will be proficient in troubleshooting networks, IP addressing, firewalls, ACLs, and other similar technologies -Will have the aptitude to quickly develop an understanding of software applications and hardware solutions from network perspective -Candidate must be experienced with a variety of standard network applications and tools including monitoring/management and packet capturing utilities (Solarwinds and Ethereal strongly preferred) -Basic skills in Windows/Unix systems administration is a plus -Be able to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills and work effectively with clients and other team members - successfully utilize time management skills in setting priorities and performing simultaneous tasks - Ability to effectively handle a multitude of competing priorities from different departments on a regular basis while being versatile and flexible - Demonstrate willingness to welcome new learning experiences and is capable of taking on new tasks and responsibilities as position may require -Demonstrate ability to remain calm and focused in pressure situations. -Candidate should be capable of efficiently completing tasks without specific direction or close supervision - B.A., B.S., or M.S. degree in computer-related field or equivalent work experience strongly desired.
