RATE:$50/HR JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide the day-to-day support and development of new and existing web-based tools based on Solaris/Linux, Apache, PHP, Mysql (LAMP), JavaScript. Performs troubleshooting, problem solving, tuning and repairs and/or maintenance as appropriate. Conducts flowcharting, proposal authoring, coding, testing, installation, and maintenance of computer applications software and databases. Writes and/or reviews code. Develop, test, deploy and backup all work using industry best-practices Accesses data and updates from various databases as necessary for proper operation of regional applications. Works in collaborative team environment to develop and enhance web sites based on team and client specifications. Stays current with web development trends and techniques and makes recommendations for the deployment of new hardware and software related to the web site. Prepares project guidelines and status reports on a per project basis and delivers weekly summary reports to management. Job Requirements: Must be energetic, positive, self directed individual who works well with others. Must have ability to understand cable system operations to effectively develop and apply web based applications. Highly organized, self-motivated and focused individual must be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. Personable, outgoing, competent, comfortable with real deadline pressure, working in an open collaborative office environment, and capable of delivering bulletproof test code. Excellent communication and prioritization skills. Development experience with MySQL, Oracle and MS SQL Web applications using PHP, HTML, Java Script, Perl, Unix Shell programming Must have understanding of TCP/IP, FTP, and WWW protocols, with a firm grasp of cross browser platform issues. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and databases required. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals or technical procedures. Ability to write reports, proposals, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. All other Duties As Assigned Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of two years experience with challenging web development projects in a commercial environment.
