Solaris is the primary flavor of Unix needed AIX is secondary but also needed Veritas Volume Manager/File experience required Veritas DMP (Dynamic Multi-Pathing). This is similar to EMC PowerPath. EMC PowerPath Host remediation and related EMC procedures and tools for Storage Migrations (Grabs, Heat, EMC Support Matrix, Elab Navigator, etc). Host remediation means making sure all the Unix Servers that are attached to the SAN have the same version of firmware and Operating System. In environments where thousands of servers exist tools exist to gather the version level of firmware and Operating System. This is what EMC Grabs and Heat reports is referring to above. Host-level storage administration concepts and procedures. The Unix admins do not need to be storage administrators but they need to know how to hook into the storage. Leadership skills. Need someone who can take a technical leadership role in migration activities. The SA team is weak and needs mentoring and leadership in this area.
