*Title: COBOL/Mainframe Developer*

*Location: Baltimore, MD*



*Position Description:*

COBOL developer supporting a Federal agency. The developer interacts with
the customer and reviews requirements documentation, such as Use
Cases/Detailed Functional Requirements (DFR) to glean and assess business
requirements, and Problem and Incident Reports (PAIRS), Change, Asset, and
Problem Reporting System (CAPRS), Quality Center, and HP ALM to glean
software anomalies and create solutions.  Subsequently, apply required
skills to develop and unit test COBOL-based code.  The developer prepares
weekly status reports to report accomplishments.



*Skills we are looking for:*

·         Strong COBOL development and maintenance experience

·         OS/JCL jobstreams

·         Strong CICS development and maintenance experience

·         VSAM experience;

·         DB2 experience;

·         Candidate should possess extensive experience with analyzing and
documentation of detailed requirements, development of use cases, high
level and low level design, and be capable of producing related
documentation.

·         Candidate must possess the experience and ability to work
effectively independently without technical oversight and to collaborate
effectively within and across teams.

·         Candidate must have experience using scripting technologies and
database scripts.

·         Candidate must also have experience with acceptance testing, and
test preparation, including writing test plans.

·         Candidate should be familiar with configuration
management/release management processes

·         Candidate should be proficient in technical communication
(written and oral) and should possess strong organizational and problem
resolution skills.

·         Experience in a customer facing role



*Desired skills (are not mandatory)*

·         Experience with Visio

·         Knowledge of:

·         SSA system architecture

·         System engineering processes and procedures

·         Experience with Endevor, DB2 utilities, FileAid and Xpediter.
