*Project Overview*
This Service Brief details the Operational Residency for Isilon® service
offering. This service offering provides the Customer with an Isilon
Operational Senior Implementation Specialist (Senior IS) resident who is
responsible for the
Isilon configuration and operations management, along with daily storage
management tasks in a Customer’s complex environment. The typical
environment for these residents contains multiple EMC Isilon clusters, EMC
software, and other infrastructure products. This service provides ongoing
improvement of processes, and applies best practices for the Customer’s
environment, as defined by EMC standards.
*Project Scope*
Consultant shall work closely with Customer’s staff to perform the services
specified below ("Services"):
Shares ownership of operational responsibility for Isilon provisioning and
availability at the Customer site(s) with the Customer Storage Manager.
Performs daily administration activities for the Isilon clusters.
Provisions Isilon storage, based on standard procedures detailed in the
Operational Run Book, and meets Customer agreed-upon standards.
Performs configuration, layout, and performance tuning of Isilon
infrastructure.
Performs necessary Isilon clusters support in accordance with EMC and
Customer’s change management policies.
Provides analysis of the Isilon environment and best practice knowledge
transfer.
Recommends changes to procedures that result in operational optimization of
Isilon environment.
Provide Status Reports summarizing environment and recommendations.
Assist Customer with data migrations from Non-Isilon platforms.
Training Customer staff to architect, administer and support Isilon
environment.
