This team is charged with the management of all aspects of the data lifecycle for the enterprise. The Data Team reviews and supports project or service efforts involving the creation, storage and consumption of data. They will develop and apply standards and best practices to ensure that the company’s data is accurate, complete, current, understandable, and accessible. The Data Analysis specialist will have deep experience in data analysis, using data from a variety of sources and with a variety of techniques and technologies. They will support product testing with a specific focus on the creation and maintenance of reusable test data. They will support our internal and external reporting initiatives. An ideal candidate will also have a basic understanding of statistical analysis methods. This resource will also support Data Quality initiatives and provide analysis and feedback to senior staff and Data Governance stakeholders. *Job Duties and Responsibilities:* - Ensures all data related deliverables conform to data management standards, and do no harm to the accuracy, currency, completeness, understandability or accessibility of data - Reviews project requirements and defines / delivers artifacts for: - Data Profiling - Schema-to-schema mapping or reference data mapping - Data quality metrics, including balancing and auditing logic - Generation and maintenance of test datasets - Ensures that proper testing and configuration practices are followed in regards to deliverables - Supports internal and external reporting initiatives - Conform to management / configuration practices for tools and deliverables related to the above - Keeps abreast of new developments in technology, tools and techniques related to data analysis and data quality control / improvement. - Other duties as assigned *Education/Skills and Experience:* *- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred* *- 3-4 years of experience in a dedicated analyst role focusing on data analysis, profiling, and quality improvement, expert level skills in these areas.* *- 2-4 years of experience working on large, mission-critical initiatives* *- In-depth experience with SQL (Structured Query Language)* *- Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL server tools supporting predictive modeling and advanced data analysis a plus.* *- Familiarity with mainframe and flat file data sources (defined via COBOL copybooks) and query tools (Example: EZTrieve)* - Understanding of data modeling concepts and ability to detect and document relational data integrity rules - Exposure to formal data quality practices and improvement initiatives. - Solid knowledge of standard software development lifecycle methodologies - Knowledge of data warehouse lifecycle concepts, specific exposure to Kimball methodology a plus *Working Conditions:* - Ongoing training and education will be required *Physical Requirements:* - This job is generally performed sitting at a desk working on a personal computer.
