Systems Administrator / Configuration Engineer Job Description
Looking for DevOps background with experience in systems administration,
configuration management, build & release deployment automation and
managing infrastructure to join our Development Configuration Management
team.
*Responsibilities:*
- Contribute and collaborate in environment build out activities
- Perform code builds and deployments
- Close collaboration with various development, engineering, database
and production teams
- Support existing Development/Test/Production environments and ensure
smooth working order, unblocked from meeting release goals
- May require communication to coordinate work with offshore team
- Document build out instructions
- Automate processes and reduce manual intervention
*Qualifications:*
- 5+ years of experience in a Dev operations or production support
experience with configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting applications
running on TIBCO or WebLogic
- 3+ years of experience with configuration management and have
worked with one or more source control applications with a solid
knowledge
of branching and code promotions. (Accurev, Git, Perforce, Subversion)
- B.S. Computer Science or Management Information Systems or
equivalent experience required.
*Strong technical expertise:*
- Application server (WebLogic) administration
- Unix System Administration
- Shell, python, jython scripting
- Java application troubleshooting
- Service Integration (SOA) knowledge – MQ, Web services
- Oracle database
*Technical Proficiency with:*
- Performance/resource monitoring tools (Wily introscope suite,
Nagios)
- Source control (AccuRev, Git, Perforce or SubVersion)
- Build automation (Jenkins, TeamCity)
- Build scripting (Ant, Maven)
- Web-tier knowledge (F5 load balancers)
- Database scripts packaging and deployment
*Nice to Have:*
- Experience with Puppet or other deployment automation tools
highly desired
- 1-2 years Application Development experience using
languages or tools (e.g., Java, J2EE Application Framework, C#,
ASP.Net, etc.)
