I need someone LOCAL that has strong SQL query writing ability and has used it with either SAS or Netezza. Both is better. *Description:* Commercial IT supporting science business Rolling out centralized database with data from various streams in one single location. Team is focused on the “profitability study” *Need strong SQL skills, hands on* Netezza is a huge plus, there will be teaching. Same with SAS, moving to Netezza. Insurance background is better so they know the business, not required. Not required but a plus if they can understand data modeling Very heavy with analytics No preference on R, Python, or C++ Data warehousing is going to be taken care of by the developers, based on the input from this positon. Manager is willing to consider candidate with a SQL certification and less years of experience but if there is no certification strong experience required. Experience also trumps the school they went to. Candidate with strong & proven Data Analysis skills with extensive experience (10+ years) in SQL to start as soon as possible. Experience in insurance domain is not must but will help candidate understand the business processes/terminologies. Experience in Netezza and/or SAS is a plus but not required. We are looking for someone with outstanding data management and manipulation skills. Primary responsibilities will be to understand business needs, and to specify, develop and manage technical processes for transforming and loading data into data models for use by Business Intelligence and reporting tools, and for statistical and predictive modelling. • Contribute to the design of data models and architecture for use by Business Intelligence and reporting tools • Design and develop data transformation and loading processes for the population and ongoing management of the data models and architecture • Develop detailed knowledge of data structures and meanings from data sources across AIG • Perform QC and verification of data according to specified criteria.
