*Position: Manual Tester*
*Location: Denver, CO*
*Duration: Long Contract*



*Description:*
We are looking to hire a QA Manual Tester who is highly detailed and
incredibly analytical with the ability to review software documentation,
create effective test plans, troubleshoot and maintain complex pay-TV
systems.


*Basic Requirements:*

   -  A minimum 5 years of experience in manual software testing experience.
   -  A minimum of 3 years of experience executing test cases and analyzing
   and reporting test results.
   -  A minimum of 2 years of experience with all aspects of product
   testing including test planning, documentation, execution, defect
   management and reporting.
   -  A minimum of a 2 years of experience using test tools and defect
   tracking systems.
   -  Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.


*Preferred Qualifications:*

   -  A minimum of 6 months of Automated testing tool experience a plus.
   -  A minimum of 6 months experience with Linux/Unix.
   -  A minimum of 6 months performing detailed troubleshooting.
   -  A minimum of 6 months working in an agile environment.
   -  Knowledge of ISTQB standards.
   - Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks
   simultaneously and work them to completion with limited supervision.
   -  Ability to perform some level of database administration with Oracle
   or MySQL.
   -  Knowledge of Linux and Unix.
   -  Knowledge of programming languages and UNIX scripting languages
   including C++, Java, PHP, Perl, shell scripting
   -  Knowledge of network and application layer protocols.



*Responsibilities:*

   -  Test, install and manage various aspects of the Client’s Conditional
   Access System.
   -  Create test plans, design test cases, run manual test sets and
   analyze test results.
   -  Manage defect tracking.
   -  Involved in the validation of system software and hardware and
   deployment planning and execution with the goal of minimum to no downtime.
   -  Participate in the Daily Scrum with the Scrum Master and the Agile
   Development Team
   -  Translate system requirements into detailed test cases and ensure
   proper execution of test campaigns.
   -  Ready to respond to technical system issues, responsible for
   maintaining and improving lab and production system monitoring.
   -  Use application log and trace files to trend behaviors and look for
   existing and potential problems, and perform detailed data modeling and
   analysis to help drive future enhancements.
   -  Provide on-call support for production software issues and software
   maintenance.
   -  Work with vendors and developers to communicate production problems
   and suggest desired solutions.
   -  Learn the applications well enough to think outside the box to create
   alternative test scenarios.
   -  Participate in requirements gathering and detailed design reviews to
   ensure robustness, redundancy, and scalability.
   -  Travel to the other Client’s offices, e.g. in Superior and Cheyenne.
