*ETL Data Analyst* *This is a contract position in Boston MA(6 months+)* *MUST BE ABLE TO INTERVIEW IN PERSON AFTER PHONE INTERVIEW. NO EXCEPTIONS* The ETL Data Analyst shall work closely with the EHS & DPH Leadership, as well as the HCSQ-IT Application Manager. Strong verbal, analytical, and written communication skills are required. The Analyst will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, documenting and maintaining all data requirements related to the business applications, interfaces, and reporting environments. This documentation shall include all logical and physical data models, all required Gap analysis, all source to Client specifications & all business logic or rules required to translate the business functional and technical requirements. The Analyst shall be assigned to daily operations (work requests), as well as to specific projects, with a focus of meeting the business objectives of quality, on time, and on budget goals. The ETL expert shall utilize standard Data Modeling and ETL tools, avoiding hand written SQL or Program coding methods, developing and implementing highly efficient, scalable, and automated ETL processes. The Analyst will be required to develop technical specifications and detailed work plans, ensuring both system and data quality. *Data quality management efforts may include: * Data cleansing, deduplication, error reporting and debugging using the standard ETL tool set. The Analyst shall provide consultation services to clients, technicians and other departments relating to the functions of the supported applications by proactively supporting the Registry of Vital Records and Statistics program area. The ETL Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring high availability of all OPM-DC related business applications through the strict adherence to all ITD and EOHHS PMO, Security, Quality Assurance, Change Management, and Release Management practices. He/she is responsible for effectively prioritizing workload, monitoring performance, and providing expertise in application, infrastructure and internal support related matters. This position reports to the Application Manager and HCSQ-IT Program Manager. *Responsibilities include:* Research, analyze and maintain all Applications and Technical documentation. Assist with report creation, ETL & SQL scripting, and the maintenance of all Ad Hoc reporting databases. Develop work plans, schedules, and negotiate Client deadlines of short term and long range initiatives. Coordinate efforts between internal management, external consultants, and software vendors. Provide technical assistance and information to technical and non-technical users. Responsible for running monthly reports, managing data extracts/imports, and data quality verification processes. Work with internal & external teams, management, other organization service units, and with end users. Continually look for opportunities to improve and automate current processes. Ensure adherence and compliance to department policies, guidelines and objectives. *Skills & Experience* Familiarity with C # and dot.net programming languages would be helpful. Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases and their native utilities (Query Analyzer, Analytical Workbench, etc.) Advanced SQL query-writing skills, Linux/Unix scripting, and automated job scheduling Experience in ETL development using standard tools like Informatica, SSIS, Data Migrator, etc. Knowledge of file and file transmission protocols (FTP, Web Services, XML, Flat File) Strong knowledge of networking protocols and connectivity as it relates to server-based connectivity. Knowledge of Applications Security including Authentication and Role Based Access Control. Knowledge and use of metadata including self-generated documentation. Experience in centralized IT data processing. Strong data modeling and database design experience. Experience in user application desktop/server support. Strong issue & problem management including root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills. Strong adherence to source control, version management, or Configuration management practices. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (clearly and succinctly). Experienced in providing ongoing maintenance and support of IT systems and User communities Capable of working independently or as part of a large team.
