Mainframe Developer Location: Detroit, MI Long Term Phone Hire . *Mainframe Developer * *Top Three Skills/Experience * 1.Mainframe systems 3 + years 2.COBOL, JCL, IMS, DB2, SAS or VSAM - 3+ years 3.Accounting or financial applications 2+ years Responsibilities: · Serve as a mainframe application analyst and developer which involves reviewing business requirements, analyzing how existing logic must change to meet the requirements, creating technical design documentation, making the necessary coding changes, testing the new logic to confirm expected results and implement changes into production. · Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems. · With general guidance and coaching, performs technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. · Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those applications. · Ensures SDLC methodology is followed, conducts inspections and post implementation reviews. · Competent to work at a high technical level for the entire application development life-cycle. · Partners with business personnel to conduct analysis of organizational needs. · Acts as a liaison with the user area for development and modifications to existing applications. · Test execution as well as documentation of results will be required. *Required Skills/Experience* · Several years of experience developing and maintaining using COBOL and mainframe tools. · Experience with JCL, IMS and CISC batch and on-line processes. · General understanding of project phases · Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills. · Strong organizational and follow-through skills, and particularly strong attention to detail. · Strong creative problem solving skills. · Demonstrated flexibility, self-discipline and ability to work independently, as well as within a group. · Ability to work effectively with multiple internal and external clients. · Ability to handle multiple tasks and implementation timeframes. · Ability to interact effectively with company representatives at various levels. · Ability to perform as a self-starter, with motivation to consistently produce high quality results. *Preferred Skills/Experience* · COBOL and mainframe tools · IMS and CICS. · On-Line and Batch processing. · Healthcare IT experience · Knowledge of company operating systems *Educational Requirements* Bachelors Degree in a related field.
