*Network and Data Security Consultant* *Client: Auditor of the Commonwealth* *Location: Boston, MA* *Duration: 6+ Months* This position will be involved in the ongoing design and development of updated network architectures and infrastructure security to support data warehouse development, mobile device management, and the enterprise network. *Responsibilities* Develop and document all of the following through research, collaboration, and evaluation: Network and data security standards Network security design including wireless and operational support procedures Feature, method, and cost analysis including trade-offs and risk identification Security product roadmaps including lifecycle planning Internet and security boundary definition and enforcement *Work and Knowledge Qualifications: * 5+ years' experience as an architect designing and engineering, evaluating, recommending and deploying security designs and standards for current and future technology, contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and global security architecture. 2+ years' experience implementing NIST and FISMA system or equivalent security controls 2+ years' experience with Cloud Computing including cloud DR Hands on experience installing and configuring Cisco and Meraki product family including routers, firewalls, access switches and wireless access points. Ability to create documentation and presentations as needed Understanding of network optimization for SQL and data warehouse environments Ability to learn new technologies quickly either collaboratively or independently as needed. Maintains knowledge of marketplace including new technologies, trends, products and features. In-depth knowledge and experience with a full range of systems, security and networking technologies and protocols, virtualization, firewalls, VLANs, proxy services, IPS/IDS, IPsec and SSL VPN solutions including: Windows Server 2008/2012 and Active Directory Windows DNS and Domain design, configuration, and management MS Hyper-V Cisco IOS Proven experience in routing, switching and security technologies and voice technologies including VoIP, and/or operating systems, such as UNIX, LINUX, and Microsoft. A thorough knowledge and/or experience in Information Security, application performance analysis, and Network Management Systems also highly desirable. Extensive knowledge and proven skill with highly complex network technologies required. Additionally, knowledge and skill with hardware and software required for connectivity and installation operations as described above.
