*Position Summary:* The Sr. SAS Developer will serve to augment an existing
team that is using SAS for marketing research and customer analysis.
Responsible for developing ETL jobs in SAS DI Studio for the purpose of
populating data marts that are used in downstream business analysis for
which source systems include several relational databases and flat files.
This role will be involved in the creation of new tables, maintenance of
the existing tables, and will be optimizing data mart resources for queries
and for reporting purposes. Works closely with the company's SAS
administrator, and will have administrative access to the environments to
support the business users and help to manage user access to the data.
Assists the company's SAS user community with SAS client tools including
SAS DI Studio and SAS Enterprise Guide, and works with the SAS
Administrator and SAS Technical Support to resolve outstanding issues. This
roles requires constant interaction with IT staff, business users, and
company management to gather requirements from these functions and build
the necessary data structures to meet the needs of these functions.

*Responsibilities:*
· Understand business requirements and translate them to technical
specifications.
· Participate in full life cycle development including requirements
gathering, analysis, design, development, testing and documentation.
· Ability to develop complex SAS ETL data flows using SAS Data Integration
Studio.
· Provide estimates for key technical deliverables to meet business
requirements and target timescales.
· Provide support of nightly ETL/ELT processes to ensure timely completion
and availability of data in data warehouse for reporting use. Analyzes and
resolves problems and provides technical assistance as in necessary.
· Understand the existing functionality of the current system and
maintenance of business rules associated with data integration.
· Modify and/or enhance existing SAS DI jobs. · Participate in the
fulfillment of ad-hoc data requests from business owners.
· Provides guidance and assistance to other SAS developers and analysts
using SAS DI Studio and SAS Enterprise Guide.
· Communicate with Business Analyst and Data Analyst to understand
requirements, socialize ideas among peers, and document work product.
· Participate in design reviews and provide input to the design
recommendations; provide input to information/data flow, understand and
comply with Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps.
· Debug, Investigate and fix the issues that may appear in the code running
in Production.
· Ensure high quality deliverables and smooth day-to-day operations of
projects within timely fashion.

*Required Expertise:*
· 6+ years of experience overall with a focus of using SAS for ETL purposes.
· 6+ years of experience using SAS Data Integration Studio. Candidate MUST
be a subject matter expert with this software.
· Foundation SAS 9.4 o Base SAS programming. o SAS Macro programming. o
SAS/ACCESS to multiple data sources (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, and ODBC). ·
SAS Data Integration Studio. o Experience in developing sophisticated data
flows. o Experience with extracts, joins, loads, User Written and other
transforms. o Experience with job deployment and scheduling. o Ability to
understand and troubleshoot SAS macro code. o Experience with metadata
management, project repositories, and job migration through development,
test, and production. o Job documentation.
· SAS Enterprise Guide.
· Experience with migration/promotion of SAS code & metadata between
environments.
· Be proficient in Base SAS programming (DATA step), SQL programming (i.e.,
use of SQL pass-through or PROC SQL), as well as the SAS Macro language,
ODS, Reporting and Summary procedures and SAS Array processing for use in
making code more efficient.
· Must have project experience with implementing advanced SAS coding
techniques to optimize performance and have developed best practices for
efficient coding due to constraints of hardware storage and memory.
· Ability to develop new data loads to existing data warehouse.
· Experience with Software Development Life Cycle, software development
methodologies and best practices.
· Proven prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent
projects and meet simultaneous deadlines.
· Good understanding of back-end services architecture on SAS Compute and
Metadata tiers.

*Preferred Expertise:*
· Good written and spoken communication skills in English.
· Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills are mandatory.
· Ability to work independently.
· Experience and knowledge in Health Care Service is an added advantage.
· Manage and track work effort against a pre-determined timeline.
· Proactive, self-motivator and team player who works well in a
collaborative environment.
· Ability to triage issues and call on SAS Technical Support to provide
assistance.
