- Administer the MYSQL database. Analyze, design and implement the data model across the project. Interface with the client’s enterprise data group to ensure project adherence to enterprise standards.
Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with developers to implement data models and database designs, data access, and table maintenance codes. Must have hands-on experience with best-practice database planning, design and modeling for new, enterprise-level applications.
- Responsible for the logical and physical database design
- Design and development of database creation and upgrade scripts
- Develop and tune SQL code
- Resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
- Deal with complex data models and object relational database mapping
- Knowledgeable in the Setup, Configuration, Tuning, and Database Replication for MySQL
- MySQL configuration, load balancing, failover and caching technologies
- MySQL replication and clustering technologies
- MySQL data architecture, server monitoring, and performance optimization
- Ability to articulate, influence, and enforce best practices.
Qualifications and skills:
- MY SQL
- Experienced with MySQL 5.1/5.5 and above, Percona preferred
- Must have experience working with large MySQL database including indexing, performance tuning, query optimization, replication, and clustering.
- Excellent and proven interpersonal and communication skills, problem solving skills, technical analysis expertise
- Must have extensive experience in database design and modeling.
- Must have experience troubleshooting and resolving database problems, including data integrity, blocking and deadlocking, replication and logging.
- Knowledge of Java based development tools and languages a plus.
