*Job Information:*

*Job Description*                The EDI Systems Analyst possesses a
general understanding of the technologies and applications supporting
Medica business. They research complex data, process and integration
issues, document break-fix specifications and participate in delivery of
comprehensive solutions. The Systems Analyst is also responsible for level
2 support of internal and customer-facing enterprise applications
including: installation, administration, maintenance, software
configuration management and operational activities for production systems.
The EDI Systems Analyst develops a thorough understanding of the business
use of these applications and the operational processes supported by the
applications.



Candidates must have the ability to communicate clearly and at all times be
able to interact with others professionally in a variety of situations. The
role requires collaboration with technical and business experts in the
course of researching and resolving issues.



The Systems Analyst creates documentation to describe application design,
logic, coding, support processes and break fixes. Documentation must be
understandable to both the business user and the technical implementer.



The Systems Analyst works independently and with teams to plan and
accomplish goals. They must be self directed in using their experience,
creativity and analytical skills to resolve technology problems.



*Qualifications *



Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related discipline (or
equivalent work experience) and 5+ years Systems Analysis experience
required.



*Specific technology experience required: *

• IT production support and operations experience with EDI middleware tools

• Familiarity with Tibco Business Works/Business Connect and/or Information
Builders’ iWay software

• Experience with client server and thin-client application support,
incident resolution and administration

• Strong SQL skills

• Familiarity with relational databases and data analysis – Oracle & MS SQL
Server

• Familiarity with healthcare payer ANSI X-12 transaction standards and EDI
connectivity methods

• Experience with Windows Server and UNIX/LINUX command-line operations

• Ability to perform application installation, configuration and
administration in UNIX/LINUX and Windows environments

Technology experience desired:

• Health Insurance IT background

• Experience supporting claim processing, provider contract, enrollment and
benefit plan processes and applications

• Familiarity with administration of Oracle WebLogic Server 11g platform

• Scripting for process automation and file manipulation – Unix & Windows

• Software Configuration Management

• Familiarity with ITIL incident, change and release management best
practices

• Familiarity with Service Desk management tools

General technology experience required:

• Excellent customer service skills and soft skills (i.e., Collaboration,
influence and communication)

• Performing support for production application systems including testing,
administration and installation to maintain enterprise technology
operations

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve, or identify for escalation, complex
support issues, determine root cause and implement or facilitate a solution

• Documenting technical requirements for application break-fix and
new-feature development

• Recording technical issues and associated troubleshooting steps and
resolution

• Experience with information technology operational support methodologies
and best practices

• Providing user training in the course of resolving service tickets

• Participate in high-level system design and contribute to technical
design documents

• Achieve full compliance with business policies
