Here are some tips on what must be present in a candidate… They MUST WORK FOR A CONSUMER FACING WEBSITE. And, they MUST BE A LEADER WHO CAN DEAL WITH BIG PERSONALITIES. Developers are out there, but developers with personality who are senior level, who have the potential to mentor junior developers are even harder to find. We have met many senior/lead developers who are technically astute, but unable to guide and mentor a team. On the other hand, we have met people with the management experience who are not willing to roll up their sleeves and code. They need to be the senior-most PHP expert in the building – an architect.
