*Position : Oracle DBA with expertise in developing PL/SQL procedures* *Location : Pittsburgh, PA* *Duration : 6-12+ Months Interview: Phone then Skype* Responsibilities · Provide database design: Research and recommend optimal table and index design criteria balancing scalability, data integrity and maintainability; publish entity relationship and data flow diagrams, design standards and work with development staff; standardize environment and improve efficiency · Provide database development: Develop application code using database programming languages and scripting languages to support application releases; analyze business requirements for application releases and, based on findings, provide recommendations for solution and estimates of work · Database performance monitoring and tuning: Closely monitor performance; identify problems and implement solutions; ensure the database is running at optimum speed and efficiency · Reorganize database structures as needed: Automate procedures at regular intervals; use tools to reorganize or defragment database table spaces, tables, and indexes; provide an efficient database environment to maximize productivity and improve performance · Capacity planning and reporting: Monitor file system space, database resource consumption, etc.; verify efficient use of disk storage and avoid out-of-space conditions · Establish, administer, and monitor database security including the setting of appropriate end-user database access control levels · Assist in the development and definition of database documentation and standards · Provide direction to and work with application development staff to develop database coding standards and best practices · Oversee the implementation of database modifications and enhancements in regards to technical changes and change management Experience and Skills · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience is acceptable · Oracle Professional Database Administrator certification is preferred · At least three years of experience in the design, administration, programming, and support of Oracle databases · *Level of expertise in developing PL/SQL procedures.* · Thorough understanding of the Oracle database architecture and solid theoretical knowledge of relational database techniques · Level of *expertise in SQL tuning* · Thorough understanding of *Oracle database performance tuning, design, security, scalability and industry best practices for administration* · Proficient *Oracle PL/SQL and SQL coding skills* with particular attention given to detail and accuracy · *Data modeling experience * · Is most of their time spent working with other DBA’s or with an application development team · *Data warehousing design experience * · Proficient *Oracle SQL performance tuning and optimization skills* · Experience with Unix scripting languages (e.g., Korn shell, Perl) · Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment; good interpersonal skills · Ability to weigh various suggested technical solutions against the original business needs and choose the most cost-effective solution · Strong customer service orientation · Good written and oral communication skills · Ability to present and explain technical information to diverse types of audiences in a way that establishes rapport and gains understanding *Regards,* *Kailash Negi **VSG Business Solutions* *221 Cornwell Dr,Bear, DE 19701* *Contact No: 302-261-3207 Ext: 102* *Email: kail...@vsgbusinesssolutions.com <kail...@vsgbusinesssolutions.com> Gtalk : usrecruite * <https://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=120384244&trk=nav_responsive_tab_profile> Note: If you have received this mail in error or prefer not to receive such emails in the future, please reply with "REMOVE" in the subject line and the email id(s) to be removed.
