5+ years working with the AIX Operating Systems
Experience of working on virtualized platforms (IBM / ESX) Additional
proficiency in Redhat Linux (Solaris/HPUX a plus, not required) Supported
enterprise servers in a large environment
Installed operating systems from scratch using NIM and/or Kickstart
Knowledge of configuration and tuning of OS related parameters
Network Products and Protocols (TCP/IP, Firewalls, Load Balancers,
Intrusion Detection, DNS)
Good understanding of Security standards including a working knowledge of
SSH Implementing High Availability & Disaster Recovery options (HACMP)
Scripting languages - shell and PERL
Exposure to enterprise storage architectures (EMC, Hitachi, etc.)
Exposure to industry recognized tools including Tivoli, Opnet, and
Netbackup Maintain and manage Unix platforms Configuration, maintenance,
and on-going support of AIX based server operating system environments for
the Retail distributed server environment
Build, design of AIX systems as per Client business requirements
Liaison and follow-ups with Client DCO groups and other project
stakeholders for the project duration
Troubleshoot and resolve build problems
Document design, configurations as re-usable assets
Operating system security remediation according to ITRM standards
Daily maintenance of support ticket queue Build, configure and maintain AIX
servers leveraging VIO
Deliver physical and virtual server builds, web/middleware installs and
application installs that meet project requirements and deadlines
Support and drive BoKS Keon implementations
Partner with application teams to create Logical Access Tables (LAT) in
support of BoKS Keon implementations
Support patching, ticket queue maintenance, execution of change controls
and security remediation
Effectively communicate with customers with regards to downtime, project
updates and troubleshooting progress
Install, maintain and troubleshoot Websphere installations
