The client’s enrollment system manages eligibility and discount determinations, notices, benefit distribution, reporting and financial integration functions. The system is a web deployed three-tier application. The primary technologies currently in use are Oracle PL/SQL and Perl. The enhancements to the system include developing and testing changes to the discount calculations for enrolled members in the context of notices and financial calculations. * * *Required qualifications include:* * * - *PL/SQL:* experience writing and testing stored procedures, packages, functions, cursors, and complex queries. - Knowledge of the Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g database platforms. - Ability to work with standard Oracle performance tuning utilities such as Explain Plan. - Experience with Oracle Application Server and the HTML toolkit, i.e., proven ability to develop and deploy HTML based applications using Oracle tools. - *Perl:* experience creating and maintaining scripts with heaviest emphasis on the DBI and CGI libraries on Win32 and UNIX platforms. - Comparable experience in the LAMP environment with either PHP or Python may be accepted as a substitute. - Effective communications (speaking and writing) skills to work with the full spectrum of staff and senior management. - Preference will be given to candidates who also possess skills in JavaScript and HTML-based UI development in Java or other OO language. - Experience in UNIX shell scripting, cron, and other UNIX utilities also an advantage. - * * *Required experience includes:* * * - At least five years of business application development and testing experience.
